EXPANDED FUNCTIONS TRAINING FOR THE DENTAL ASSISTANT

Class #1: 

 Occlusal Registration
               Placement & Removal of Gingival
               Retraction Cord
               Taking Final Impressions
               Fabricating Provisional Restorations

Approved for 15 CEU's for Iowa; 12 CEU's for DANB
Course length: All Day Course
Tuition: $327.00 per student, plus travel costs if given in your office

Class #2:   

  Applying Cavity liners, bases, desensitizing agents &

                   bonding systems
                   Placement & removal of dry socket medication

                   Placement of Periodontal Dressing
                   Testing Pulp Vitality

Approved for 13 CEU's for Iowa; DANB CEU's 10.5
Course length: 6 hours
Tuition: $187 per student, plus travel costs if given in your office

Both courses include the state mandated didactic and laboratory portions of the training. The clinical portion of the training MUST be provided by the supervising dentist no matter where you take the training. All of the necessary paperwork for the clinical portion of the training will be provided.

To participate in either class, the dental assistant MUST be DANB certified OR 2 years minimum experience as a dental assistant. You do not need to take all of the Expanded Function components.  You may pick & choose what expanded functions you wish to perform.

The Mentoring Dentist Will Bring the Expanded Functions Training To You!!

Have your assistants complete the Mentoring Dentist Expanded Functions training program in one day, in the convenience of your office and on a day that fit's your schedule not someone else's schedule!! That's right....we will come to your office to train your staff! This provides the staff the opportunity to learn the functions utilizing the materials and equipment they are accustomed to using on a daily basis.

We do require a minimum of 4 staff to provide the training in house. Many offices are combining their staff to reach the minimum required and to offset the travel expenses.

Our training is concise and thorough. All of our training programs for the Expanded Functions have been approved by the IBDE and  DANB. If you do not desire to have the training done in house or cannot meet the minimum student number requirement, we are offering the Expanded Functions Courses on Fridays in our Monticello location.
