Welcome to Iowa’s first comprehensive Dental Education Company designed to provide courses and training for Iowa Dental Assistants, Hygienists and Dentists.  The Mentoring Dentist was founded by Iowa Dentist Dr. Brian James to enhance the continuity and quality of continuing education/training in Iowa.

Our goal is to be your go to source for continuing education in the Hawkeye State.  We offer our popular  Expanded Function Training brought to your office.

In addition to Expanded Function Training we offer our 8 week  Dental Assisting School to expeditiously train and educate Dental Assistants for Iowa Dental Practices.  The response and support for this revolutionary program within the dental community has been very rewarding.  Graduates of the Mentoring Dentist Dental Assisting School will be prepared to take the registration board exams in radiography, infection control and jurisprudence.

Graduates will also receive certificates in CPR and Mandatory Reporting for adult and child abuse.  For details, click on the Assisting School tab at the left.  Dentists are sending us their employees under trainee status.
